This OBD2 Saved me over $200 !!!
This diagnostics tool delivered big time for me.
My mechanic quoted me $280 worth of parts and labor to resolve a yellow warning light, but with the help of this Unit (and a little bit of watching YouTube videos) I found that all I needed to do was spray-clean the Air Sensor and.. DONE!
1.. It’s compact and fits in the glove compartment
2.. Gives more stats and data than I would ever know what to do with, but I only use what I need
3.. Free software for the 1st car, and a 21.99 fee per additional model
4.. The App takes some learning and provides more information you know what to do with at first. Professionals will probably find it very powerful.

This little thing is nothing short of amazing. I work as a Honda Master Technician at the dealership and was a bit skeptical of all the things claimed this could do. I’ve been searching for a way to program immobilizer keys for Honda/Acura by using my cell phone for some time now. Have seen other expensive scan tools and bluetooth dongles claiming all the capabilities of this one for at least $150-200 range so when I found this one and at the time was having a lightning deal for $44 I couldn’t pass it up. Tried for first time the other day on a 2018 Honda Pilot and was just amazed by the things this can do. Will do almost everything the Honda HDS will do. Had the opportunity to try programming a new key on 2006 Pilot so was anxious to see if it will work. So went on to perform key program procedure and worked pretty much identically to using the Honda HDS. I can not recommend this tool enough. Also has the ability to do an all DTC scan and clear all DTCs using a quick erase function without having to go into each individual system. Still trying things out and learning everything its capable of.

GREAT for BMW F10 5-Series
About me – former pro tech for just a year and a half, I do a vast majority of my own maintenance. If it doesn’t require a lift or an engine hoist I usually tackle it.
So I just went through a painful experience with a Foxwell NT510 which has a great reputation for BMW…but I couldn’t get it to scan any specific modules on my 2012 535i. To Foxwell’s credit they helped me for weeks before finally agreeing to a full refund.
I saw this and knew Autel had a great reputation for Euro import software and gave it a try. I wanted several of their $400 scanners but I just had issues justifying that expense. Benefit with those is you get tons of makes – downside is you pay for updates (usually at least $150/year).
It was easy to set up and it’s really easy to use. It scans tons of modules and gets lots of live data in charts that you can easily manipulate the range, C or F, display type, etc.
Example: to change the trans fluid on this car (I don’t believe that any automotive fluid is really “lifetime”) you have to complete the final fill at a certain operating temp range – this tool will give you real time data.
Turbo spool RPM’s
Engine oil temp
Wheel speed sensors (these can cause all sorts of issues with these cars – if you have a bad one you can easily see because all 4 are shown at the same time on the same screen as you drive).
It can even tell you what door is open – I guess this is helpful if you’re having door contact sensor issues.
What it cannot do? As far as I can tell it won’t do any two way active programming (like programming a battery). So you can’t really change setting or program modules – like transfer case adaptations or setting/initializing window module settings. This sucks because the Foxwell was supposed to do some of that but I got no joy from that tool.
Keep in mind I’ve spent a grand total of 10 minutes with this tool but so far it’s an incredible value for a majority of users that need live data and manufacturer specific codes. Even if you aren’t a home mechanic it’s useful to pull codes when the light goes on (or iDrive warning pop up) and do some internet research (there’s a button next to the code readout that searches Google for you) and educate yourself so the mechanic doesn’t just completely hammer you with lies.
WELL DONE AUTEL – this Autel AP200 was a long time coming and you guys nailed the value proposition. I’d have paid twice this amount for adaptations and programming but I understand you have to protect your pro level $1000+ scanners. But if you’re listening my wallet is at the ready.
I’ll update this review as I learn more about the tool. But so far I love it.

I’ve looked, read about, browsed reviews, and read .PDF Manuals of 15-20 Types/Brands of OBDII Scanners/Readers, and even purchased one which worked great–but did not connect via BlueTooth (BT) to my iOS Device’s (iPad/iPhone). I liked the idea of a Stand-Alone, Plug-In unit to take with me to read my buddy’s cars/trucks and found one that did this in another brands model. It also was a BT reader which expanded its capabilities significantly; however, it would not connect to either iPhone SE or iPad Air even though it claimed to be able to so… ($69.99 Refunded).
Wanting a Scan Tool that I could use for more than just reading and clearing codes, I seriously was considering spending the money to purchase a truly useful tool and settled in on the Autel MK808BT Tablet Scan Tool at $499.00. But it just wasn’t in my budget at this time to plop-down $500 for a truly decent tool–as compared to $1000-1500 for Bi-Directional functions. So, I waited and saved up some cash, then lo-and-behold the Autel AP200 became available.
Verified-Purchase — I’ve already scanned/fixed a friend’s 5.3L Silverado, my Son’s 1.9L Saturn, and of course my own truck 5.9L Ram. I have to say that if you are looking for a scan tool that does work with the iOS Operating Sys, give this one a try..!
Totally Satisfied (tickled even),.. BUSHLABS

A friend of mine had purchased this after he bought his latest car. We were chatting about cars and asked me about codes and such and that this device helped him figure out the various errors his car’s computer was throwing. I had a very basic code reader that really told me nothing so I thought, hell, I’ll give this one a shot. It cost a bit more, but the ease of use after downloading the software and the update for my car manufacturer, which ended up with my downloading one more app, and getting it setup, I was pretty happy to be able to understand what other underlying errors there were that my car wasn’t displaying. It’s supposed to let you reset for things like oil changes and other intervals, but I haven’t quite gotten to that point yet. I like not having to be crouched down next to the floorboard trying to read error codes by instead using my phone and I like being able to actually get real descriptions to the errors.

Works great, recommend as a vehicle specific low cost alternative to a fully loaded scanner.
I have been working on cars for many years and have a state of michigan mechanics license and have three other scanners, two older Actron 900 series and a newer $3 bluetooth to use with various apps, the Autel works the best as it is specific to the brand. I bought this for my 2005 Jaguar S-type to reset the electronic parking brake and anything else Jaguar specific. Took a while to download all the required Jaguar and european software but after that connected fine. I also bought the Chrysler software, once again took a whlie to download that and the domestic software required, then worked great. I can see the cost adding up if I were to purchase a lot of different vehicle brands software.
Excellent scanner, easy to carry, good range to read from outside the car, easy to use apps. Did everything it said it would. I would recommend to others who have worked on cars long enough to understand what the given information means.

Small compact ap200 scanner packed with lots of features. Easy to carry or just keep in your car if you ever need a code reader. It’s nice not having to carry a large code reader when traveling. Great having an app that can perform diagnostics and programming functions. Live data streaming. Readiness tests. Key programming. Reset check engine lights. O2 sensor test. Evap test. Vehicle information. And much more. If you need to read car specific codes or perform mfg specific operations you will need to
Purchase that mfg and download it to your phone. You get 1 mfg free and it’s $21.99 for each additional. May sound like a lot but unit is less expensive then the others that include some mfg information. If you only work on 1 make then your golden. In my case I charge my customer $25 to perform specific functions so i get to keep the download for future use and my customer is happy cause it’s less expensive than the dealership. Great if you’re a home mechanic and only work on your personal car. The ability for it to expand is the best part. Only part for what you need.
Review 8:
I bought Autel scanner considering its prices and features, and it had practically saved my time and my money. This device could perform a number of features that were helpful to faster vehicle repair and maintenance, such as it was effectively in reading and clearing specific systems’ codes. Recently, my Check Engine light popped up after my car was slightly hit at the parking by another reversing vehicle. Read codes with this scanner, and it turned out to be a slight problem that could be definitely fixed on my own. Instead of visiting the mechanic shop, I repaired it on my own. And undoubtedly I did it perfectly – perfectly turned the warning light off. BTW, adjacent to all the DTCs were their definitions, which made it easier to figure out the problems. For DIY, this tool was truly good enough, at least for me, it well met what I needed for problem solving, moreover, it had a competitive price.
Review 9:
Slightly confusing interface but awesome device!
I enjoy the occasional car repair on my older vehicles and have wanted a decent OBD scanner for some time. Codes alone are only so useful, and I’d heard the bluetooth ones open up a lot of possibilities, so I was excited to try out this model.
First of all, it’s very small and easy to place. As you can see in my picture it just hangs out below my dash, operating just fine and out of the way even while driving (for seeing live data). I knew where my OBD port was, just had to click the device in. Powered on without issue.
The app isn’t very intuitive, in my opinion, but maybe more advanced users wouldn’t feel this way. I had to fumble around to figure out how to pair the device to my phone, to get it to start pulling data from my car (I believe it needed to figure out which interface my car operates on?), etc. This took a little while, which was unfortunate. I searched through the manual a bit and eventually got it figured out. Once it was connected, I had a wealth of data at my fingertips! The Eobd provides a whole menu of readings from the cars various sensors about temperature, pressure, fuel, etc. I haven’t been able to really dive in and take advantage of the data for a repair yet, but this would have been amazing info for the last repair I needed to do (very complex electrical problem messing with my idle turned out to be a hairline crack in my ignition coil, took ages to figure out).
I give 4 stars for a powerful scan tool that is very useful, but wasn’t very intuitive/fast to use (as far as the app interface goes).
Review 10:
Extremely easy to use. Works beyond basic OBDII function.
In comparison with other Bluetooth code readers, this AP200 provides me with a more comprehensive range of features. A number of reset services are supported, which includes Oil reset, EPB reset, BMS reset, etc. This is a much more comprehensive tool then your typical BT plug in code readers. You can do all the generic functions (for any vehicle) and you can add enhanced vehicle specific software for data logging and bi-directional controls as well as get into almost all the different vehicle systems. There are some service features such as oil minder reset and electronic park brake service. You also get one free vehicle (specific software with purchase) additional vehicles (for the enhanced software) are only 21.99. I have several diagnostic platforms including SnapOn Modi’s Ultra and for the money this is a great “grab and go” tool
